My name is Simon and I’m interested in your Designer position. I thought it would be interesting to start this off by mentioning that like your Design Director Mark Weaver: I too am an alumnus of Layer Tennis — although not nearly as decorated or successful at it. Pretty neat!
I think I would be a valuable asset to your team given my ability to create innovative digital experiences and readiness to interact with members throughout the entire design process (prototyping, designing, development and deployment).
A few of the core strengths I can bring to this role:
- a cohesive understanding of the importance design has on a user’s experience
- creative problem solving with awareness of technological limitations
- eagerness to “create” via a balance of collaboration, research and know-how
- comfortable with responsive design for cross-platform mobile experiences
- hands on experience with JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5, CSS3, and PHP
My most recent gig has been “stay-at-home father” – which has consequently honed my multitasking and project management abilities (no, really!). I’ve kept my other skills sharp by building my own portfolio site from scratch, as well as working on various independent projects which can all be found at SIMEdesign.net.
Crush & Lovely is not only an innovative design agency but also sounds like a great place to grow, learn and really make an impact. I am ready to rejoin the workforce and help shape the future of cutting edge design with such a dynamic organization.
